Ragged Ridge Residence

Twenty years ago, Dalgliesh Gilpin Paxton Architects designed a residence for a couple who had previously lived in Paris and wanted a new home to reflect their love of French architecture.  Upon purchasing the property, the current owner enlisted DGP to transform the house into a sophisticated yet welcoming home tailored to the active lifestyle of a family with three teenagers and two dogs.  The new plan created a symmetrical, five-part composition crafted to complement the original home.  Additions reinforced connections to the landscape, added generous glazing to infuse the house with natural light, and contributed significant living space, including a primary bedroom suite, guestroom, and office.  Renovations to the original structure reconfigured the family room and kitchen, creating a bright and inviting family hub.  Extending the length of the home, the expanded garden terrace offers comfortable outdoor living and dining spaces and connects major living areas to the serene landscape.
